I have been brewing up a new career behind the scenes, pulling pieces of knowledge, interests and practices together to create a whole new adventure into an area I have only previously dabbled in. That area is called Permaculture and I am opening a Permaculture Design Studio.
What Is Permaculture?
Permaculture is a multifaceted approach to designing a future of community and planetary resilience.
It draws knowledge from the past, embraces technology, and keeps an eye to abundance and equanimity.
Permaculture works within the parameters of ethics and principles set out at its inception waaay back in the 1970s and has been embraced by people around the world since then.
Why Permaculture Design?
Permaculture has a multifaceted and wholistic approach. We gather information from property or business owners, from the land, building, or business to look for ways of meeting the needs and desires of all concerned. Harmony, abundance, and equanimity are goals incorporated into a design that ensures reduced waste, the use of local renewable resources, and Earthcare.
As examples, harmony may be seen as harmony between people and the land or as greater ease of processes. Increased abundance could be realized through greater joy or more food production.
The possibilities are always there and looking for creative solutions to problems is what we do!
Who can use Permaculture Design?
Permaculture aka Regenerative Culture can be applied to many aspects of life.
Whether you are a renter, a home and business owner, or a farmer, you can benefit from improved design.
Here at Wildflower we focus on Home, Garden, and Business designs.
Even an apartment can be assessed and redesigned for greater ease, joy, and abundance.
Who needs Permaculture/Regenerative culture?
Everyone!
Permaculture is at the forefront of a movement to heal the Earth. It works toward adapting to changes, creating resiliency, and co-creating a better way of being for future generations.
It all starts close to heart and home!
How does the design process work?
STEP 1 :
Starting @ $50 (less than or equal to a city lot size)
Permaculture consultations start with an hour to one-and-a-half-hour site visit.
We will discuss your needs, desires, and budget, get a feel for the location, and look at possibilities.
You will receive a basic concept plan based on the information gathered.
STEP 2 :
Starting @ $350 (less than or equal to a city lot size)
If you would like to go forward with a more detailed design there will be 1-2 more site visits.
We will gather more detailed observations, measurements, and do a further refining of needs, desires, and possibilities.
You will receive annotated hardcopy drawing/s of the project, plant and/or element lists, a strategy of phases for implementation, and a follow-up visit or call.
STEP 3 :
Implementation.
