Marilyn graduated from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in Vancouver in 1992, returning to the Cowichan Valley to open Wellspring Clinic in Duncan in 1996.
I moved to Ladysmith in 2004 working part-time in my Duncan-based On-site Massage business.
Continuing education requirements have led me down many educational paths over the past 30 years, each new modality becoming another "tool" in my tool belt. I use a blend of Muscle Energy, Neuromuscular, and Craniosacral techniques as well as Acupressure, Swedish Massage, and Fascial mobilizations to create a unique and thorough treatment. I generally work in one-hour blocks as I prefer to treat the body as a whole.
In June 2011, I received a diploma in Aromatherapy and was eager to set up a practice again, hence the blossoming of Wildflower with my good friend and Master Herbalist Gillian Leverkus. Gillian has since moved to Fort Nelson, BC.
In 2013, I pursued an education in Fitness Knowledge. This has brought about my own increased fitness and an idea to expand my business to help others in this arena. I no longer provide Elder fit Classes.
My lifelong love for learning about growing and wildcrafting herbs and forest plants inevitably led me to medicine making.
In the coming years, I hope to offer local products as a result of the decades of self-study and experimentation.
Personal practices in spirituality, self-help, shamanism, and yoga round out the skills I have developed and will be sharing in workshops and community projects.
